Pak Suzuki has yet again raised the prices of its Alto variants and motorbikes by up to Rs.85,000 and Rs.6000 respectively with effect from 1st October 2019.
The automobile industry is going through the worst patch due to low demand in the market and consequently, the closure of production plants from the auto manufacturers. However, the price of automotive products keeps on going away from the budget of the customers. In a similar turn of events, one of the largest auto manufacturers in the country, Pak Suzuki has raised the prices of its all-new 660 cc Suzuki Alto and motorbikes. The new prices will come into effect from 1st October 2019. The company issued a circular to all its authorized dealerships across the country on 30th September regarding the revision in the prices of its products. Note here that all the retail prices are inclusive of ex-factory price and freight charges incurred on vehicles to reach the premises of the dealerships. The notification shows that the price of Suzuki Alto VXR is raised by Rs.70,000 as it goes up to Rs.1,308,000 from its previous price of Rs.1,238,000. The AGS variant of 660cc Alto becomes costly by Rs.85,000, and the new price is mentioned as Rs.1,518,000. The old price of the Auto Gear Shift variant was Rs.1,433,000. The complete chart of the old and new prices of Alto is given below.
It is pertinent to mention here that the company had recently suspended the bookings of its several cars on a temporary basis. It also includes the base variant of Alto, i.e. VX variant. Apart from all other cars of Pak Suzuki, Alto has been the driving force of the company’s sales. The automaker has already sold 8019 units of Alto in the first two months of the fiscal year 2019-20. Furthermore, a decline of nearly 71% sales of Wagon R in this period also indicates that Alto has also captured the customers of Wagon R since its price has gone beyond 1.5 million in the local market.
Moreover, as per another notification, the company has also revised the prices of its motorbikes by up to Rs.6000 with effect from 1st October 2019. The motorbikes of Suzuki including GD 110S, GS 150, GS 150 SE, and GR 150, have become costlier now. The new price chart of Pak Suzuki motorbikes is attached below, which also shows the old prices of each model.
The overall sales of automobiles in the country are dipping drastically due to the surging prices. However, the reason behind this upward revision by Pak Suzuki has not been mentioned by the auto manufacturer. Even the Pakistani Rupee has appreciated against the US dollar in the past couple of months. The last revision in the prices of Pak Suzuki products came on 2nd August 2019.
