Kodak is the latest company to try and blend in a tinge of nostalgia with functionality. It makes another attempt in the smartphone industry with a photography-centered smartphone, named Ektra.

The phone retains the classy look of old era’s cameras, with a leather grip round the back. It will come with optional cases which will further induce nostalgia.

The main feature of the package is the large Sony IMX230 lens on the back. It is a 21-megapixel sensor with OIS, phase-detection autofocus, dual-tone LED and 4K video recording. A 13-megapixel shooter adorns the front, too.
Coming in the phone is a Super-8 app, which allows you to choose a bunch of filters. Users can also tinker with the exposure, ISO, white balance, shutter speed and more in the manual mode.
Apart from that, the Kodak Ektra is a pretty above-average phone. It has a 5-inch 1080p display. Under the hood is a MediaTek Helio X20 processor, with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of expandable storage. Battery capacity is set at 3,000 mAh.
The phone itself is available in a Black finish, while the cases will be available in either Black or Brown. Pricing is set at 450 pounds, or around $550.

This isn’t Kodak’s first entry in smartphones, but it does appear that it is making amends to make sure it lasts this time around.
